Government Courses
- Proseminar: Essentials of Public and Private Management
- Government and Politics in the U.S.
In addition to these two required government courses, MBA/MA Government program students are required to take seven electives, two of which can be fulfilled outside the government program with permission from the government Associate Program Chair.
Though not required, the following government courses are recommended electives for students who wish to complete the MBA/MA Government program:

- Congressional Policy Making
- The Budgetary Process
- Executive Politics and Policymaking
- Public Entrepreneurship
- Negotiating as Leadership Skill
- Government and the Global Economy
- State Politics and Policymaking

In addition, students take four elective courses.
