Ira J. Perlmuter Visits Carey to Discuss Private Equity, Venture Capitalism

Private equity investor, venture capitalist, and former banker Ira J. Perlmuter visited the Johns Hopkins Carey Business School to meet with students and faculty members as part of the school’s Executives in Residence (EIR) program. Through EIR, Carey hosts executives from a variety of sectors and industries to talk with students, guest-lecture in classrooms, and visit with leading faculty in their fields.

Perlmuter is currently the Managing Director of T5 Equity Partners, LLC, the private equity affiliate of the Triple Five Group of Companies, which owns and operates the Mall of America.

Over lunch, Perlmuter and Carey Senior Lecturer Demir Yener, a financial economist, discussed trends in finance, Perlmuter’s work in private equity and venture capitalism, and other topics in front of a group of approximately 30 students enrolled in Carey’s MS in Finance program.
