Admission

Because the MBA in the Life Sciences program offers curriculum related to a specific industry, participants in this program are expected to have a level of intellectual and professional maturity that most often comes from experience. Students applying to the MBA in the Life Sciences ideally should have at least three years of health-related professional post-baccalaureate experience (or a terminal professional degree such as an MD or PhD) prior to entering the program.

Application materials will be accepted up to the start of the program. Each cohort will enroll up to 30 participants.

There is still time to begin your program this fall. Please submit the following items by September 10 for admission into the fall cohort:

  • Completed MBA in the Life Sciences application form
  • Essay (typed)
  • Two Letters of Recommendation (using JHU forms)
  • $70 application fee (this fee is waived if you have graduated from the Leadership and Management in the Life Sciences Graduate Certificate Program and apply for the MBA in the Life Sciences within one year of graduation)
  • Official GMAT or GRE score (waived for applicants with advanced degrees)

Applicants to the MBA in the Life Sciences must meet one of the following criteria:

  • Master's degree or higher with a minimum five years of work experience, three years of which should be in the life sciences
  • Professional degree (PhD, MD, DO, JD) with a minimum of three years work experience in the life sciences
  • Baccalaureate degree with a minimum five years work experience, three years of which should be in the life sciences
