Engaging all Carey students in building communities, developing personally and advancing professionally through the Carey Experience.
The Student Government Association represents all the students in the Carey Business School and plays an important leadership role in all aspects of student life from academics, community involvement, representation on various school and university- wide organizations, and organizing social functions for students.
Participating in a business-related case competition is one of the best ways to develop critical business and presentation skills, gain practical real-world industry experience and network with experts and potential employers. For a list of competitions by industry, go to B-Involved’s Carey Business Competition page.
Students can work with the Career Development Office to plan a day or multi-day trek to visit company offices (locally or in another city). Treks allow students to create networking opportunities and gain unique insight into the culture and operations of a business and industry. Treks also provide employers the opportunity to access Carey talent and start building a pipeline for future hiring needs.
Adventure Leadership Treks – Belize
Participants will spend nine days in the beautiful Central American country of Belize, sea kayaking through the pristine coastal waterways. The group will work together as an expedition team to navigate, cook, eat, and set up camp. Along the way we will enjoy snorkeling, fishing, and local island life. Throughout the trip, students will focus on enhancing individual and team performance, learn and apply appropriate leadership models and provide/receive structured feedback. Trip logistics will be outfitted by Island Expeditions who will provide us with local guides to teach us about life in Belize.
Adventure & Culture Trek – Italy
Participants will spend 12 days travelling and adventuring throughout the remote and scenic areas of Italy. The group will be guided by local Italians who will share their knowledge and love of Italian food, art and adventure. As we travel through the northern parts of Italy, students will work together as an expedition team to plan and execute the daily schedule of hiking, biking, kayaking and working with locals to coordinate meals, lodging, activities and transportation.
LEAD is an 8-month leadership development program consisting of workshops, and events that promote personal excellence, leading teams and social responsibility. LEAD Cohort members will learn together and work in small teams to design and implement a community impact project by the end of the program.
