The Johns Hopkins University seeks a dean to join the Carey Business School and the broader university community. This experienced leader will possess the passion for excellence, innovation, research, and service—and the vision—to build on the young school’s many successes and lead it to an increasingly influential position both across the Johns Hopkins community and among the world’s great business schools. This website will assist prospective candidates in learning about the position, the Carey Business School, and the Johns Hopkins University.
Just four years after its founding, the Johns Hopkins University Carey Business School looks back on a remarkable period of growth and achievement that positions it for a future of unlimited potential. A new kind of business school, founded on a new set of ideals—humanistic and global in both sweep and discipline—and focused on a new generation of business leaders, demands remarkable leadership. We are seeking an exceptional individual, whose accomplishments are matched by a dedication to educating the global leaders, thinkers, and humanitarians of the 21st century, the business professionals of the future.
On July 20, 2011, Johns Hopkins President Ronald L. Daniels appointed a committee, composed of distinguished Johns Hopkins scholars (from both the Carey School and other university divisions), university trustees, staff, alumni, and Carey students and to guide the search. President Daniels has instructed this committee, chaired by University Provost Lloyd B. Minor, M.D., to “leave no stone unturned” in finding the best individuals to consider for this most important leadership position.
