Meet MS Finance Student Stella Wang
Ai “Stella” Wang is a full-time student in the Johns Hopkins Carey Business School’s Master of Science in Finance degree program. Stella joined the Carey Business School after degrees in Human Resource Management and Finance from the University of International Business and Economics in Beijing, China.
In addition to her full-time studies, Stella is also completing an internship with the Maryland Wineries Association in Baltimore, MD.

ACADEMIC PROGRAM DIRECTOR
Dr. Demir Yener (Ph.D. Syracuse University) is a financial economist who draws on a broad base of global expertise as an academic and practitioner, policy formulator and business strategist. He specializes in developing comprehensive technical assistance and training plans and programs for financial sector development and corporate governance projects on a global basis. He joined the Carey school from USAID where he served as senior project manager and financial sector advisor in designing, developing and managing economic development projects in emerging countries in the financial sector, capital markets and corporate governance regulation. Previously, he was Professor of Finance at Babson College (Boston), where he taught corporate finance, investments, financial institutions, business valuation and portfolio management courses. He later joined the World Bank.
Prior to his work at Carey Business School, Jeff served as a Student Support Specialist at Hagerstown Community College in western Maryland. In this role, he advised nursing and pre-nursing students, assisted with the nursing admissions processes, managed the credit transfer process, served on various campus-wide committees, and worked closely with nursing faculty to maximize student retention. Jeff served in previous positions at Hagerstown Community College, including career development with undecided students and general academic advising, in which he worked with students pursuing accounting & business degrees. Jeff holds a Bachelor of Education from Northwestern University and two Masters degrees in counseling from Columbia University’s Teachers College.
Jeff is an active member of NACADA, the Global Community for Academic Advising. He also has over 15 years of experience helping students in various educational and developmental capacities. In his free time, Jeff enjoys singing with various community choirs, playing bocce, and being a huge soccer fan.
Klihsree (Kay) Myat is an Academic Adviser for the Master of Science in Finance Programs and the flex MBA program at the Washington, DC campus. Kay has been with Carey since 2013. She has ten years of experience in academic advising, program planning, and has held various positions within higher education. Prior to joining the Carey Business School, Kay worked at University of California at Davis and University of Maryland at College Park.
Kay earned a Bachelor of Science in Human and Community Development from University of California, Davis and a Master of Arts in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies (Higher Education Leadership) from California State University, Sacramento.
