Michael A. Neal is a Former Vice Chairman of General Electric Company.
Mr. Neal joined GE in 1979, working on the Company's industrial side. In 1987, he moved to financial services and was named Vice President and General Manager of Vendor Financial Services. Three years later, Mr. Neal became General Manager of GE Commercial Equipment Financing (CEF). Under his leadership, CEF became the world's largest provider of financing for equipment of all types.
Mr. Neal served as GE Capital Executive Vice President from 1994 to 1999 – a period of enormous growth for GE’s financial services businesses. In 2000, he was named GE Capital's President and Chief Operating Officer.
In 2002, Mr. Neal became President and CEO of GE Commercial Finance and President of GE Capital Services. Three years later, he was named a Vice Chairman of General Electric Company and Chairman and CEO of GE Capital.
Mr. Neal is a graduate of Georgia Tech and serves on their Sam Nunn School of International Relations Advisory Board. He is also a trustee of the Georgia Tech Foundation.
